Research Study: Your Story Matters

Are you a parent with a child who has experienced a medical error?
(Telephone interview/UMass Medical School)

Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School are seeking parents who have faced problems in their child’s health care for a study to improve how doctors and institutions respond to medical errors, and to prevent future medical errors from occurring.

Have you ever experienced any of the following problems in your child’s health care?

Delayed treatment: it took longer than it should have for doctors or nurses to give your child the correct treatment.

Delayed/wrong diagnosis: it took the doctors or nurses longer than it should have to find out what was wrong with your child.

Unnecessary procedure/treatment: your child went through a procedure or treatment that was not needed.

Other mistakes or errors in you child’s care.

Participation in our research study involves a single telephone interview which will last between 30 to 60 minutes. Compensation is provided. [IRB docket# H-12623] Call 1-800-283-2556, extension 51057 or email Medical.Errors@umassmed.edu
